"Orphans
of God"
You shall not
afflict any widow, or fatherless child
|
|
Zechariah
7:10
And
oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the sojourner,
nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against
his brother in your heart. |
If
you are an orphan
God
wants you to know...
No
one in the whole world
Is a duplicate of you.
He is glad He made you special,
You're the one and only YOU!
It's true! No one else
looks exactly like you and talks like you and thinks like
you.
Look at your hands.
No one else has fingerprints exactly like yours. God is so
wise that He designed a fresh set for each person. He never
has to use the same pattern twice!
Even if people tell
you that you look like your mother or your Uncle Jim, you
are the only one of you God made. Long before you were born
He planned how you would look, from the top of your head down
to your toes.
God made you so special
because He loves you. He made you so that you could know Him,
and love Him back.
The Bible says that
God cares about each bird in the sky (Matthew 10:29). Don't
you think that God is more interested in you?
God knows everything
about us. He knows the good things that we do and the bad
things that we don't want anyone to know about. The Bible
says that we all have done bad things (sins) and that we all
deserve to be punished (Romans 6:23).
But you and I are so
important to God that He sent His very own Son, Jesus Christ,
to take our punishment. "God so loved the world, that
He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John
3:16).
God loves you so much
that He wants to forgive you. But first you must agree with
Him that you have sinned.
Right now you can talk
to God. Tell Him that you want Jesus to be your Savior. He
is always ready to listen to you. He wants you to be part
of His family and to help you every day.
Dear
God, I am sorry for the bad things I do. Thank You for sending
Jesus to pay the penalty for my sins. Please change me on the
inside and help keep me from sin so I can live a clean, new
life for You. Amen.
A
reminder
The Lord always hears the cry of the broken-hearted truly
seeking Him
God
will lengthen and restore our tranquillity, when we are doing
showing loving kindness and mercy,
caring for others,
We as neighbours...
must have a tender concern for one another,
and must not only do one another no wrong,
but must be ready to do one another all the good that God
would have us to do to each other
We must show mercy and compassion to every person
The infirmities of others, as well as their calamities, are
to be looked upon with compassion mercy.
We definitely must NOT be hard upon those whom are disadvantaged
or
against those who are not able to help themselves.
We must not, either in commerce or in course of law, oppress
the widow, the fatherless, the stranger, or the poor
God Himself will not find us guiltless
And
He will fight for their cause...
Not
relieving their burdens and helping them as we ought is, in
effect, not helping Jesus himself. As
Jesus said: Whatever you do to the least of these my brethren,
you do unto me...

How
does God want us to treat...
orphans, and strangers, and widows, and travelers, and the
poor?
Exodus
22:22 You shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless
child.
Deuteronomy 10:18 He executes justice for the fatherless
and widow, and loves the stranger, in giving
him food and clothing.
Deuteronomy 14:29 And the Levite, (because he has no part
nor inheritance with you,) and the stranger, and the fatherless,
and the widow, who are within your gates, shall come, and
shall eat and be satisfied; that
the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand
which you do.
Deuteronomy 16:11 And you shall rejoice
before the LORD your God, you, and your son, and your
daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the
Levite that is within your gates, and the stranger, and the
fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the
place which the LORD your God has chosen to place his name
there.
Deuteronomy 16:14 And you shall rejoice
in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter,
and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite,
the stranger, and the fatherless,
and the widow, that are within your gates.
Deuteronomy 24:17 You shall not pervert
the justice due the stranger, nor the fatherless;
nor take a widow's clothing as pledge:
Deuteronomy 24:19 When you reap your
harvest in your field, and have forgotten a sheaf
in the field, you shall not go again to get it: it
shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless,
and for the widow: that the LORD your God may bless you in
all the work of your hands.
Deuteronomy 24:20 When you beat your olive
tree, you shall not go over the boughs
again: it shall be for the stranger, for the
fatherless, and for the widow.
Deuteronomy 24:21 When you gather the grapes
of your vineyard, you shall not
glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the
fatherless, and for the widow.

of your increase the third year, which is the year
of tithing, and have given it unto the Levite, the
stranger, the fatherless, and
the widow, that they may eat within your gates, and be filled;
Deuteronomy 26:13 Then you shall say before the LORD your
God, I have removed the sacred portion
out of my house, and also have given
them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the
fatherless, and to the widow, according to all your
commandments which you have commanded me: I have not transgressed
your commandments, neither have I forgotten them:
Deuteronomy 27:19 Cursed be he
that perverts the justice due
the stranger, fatherless, and
widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.
Psalms 10:14 You have seen it: for you behold mischief and
spite, to repay it with your hand: the poor commits himself
unto you; you are the helper of the
fatherless.
Psalms 68:5 A father of the fatherless,
and a judge of the widows, is God in
his holy habitation.
Psalms 82:3 Defend the poor and
fatherless: do justice to the
afflicted and needy.
Psalms 146:9 The LORD preserves
the strangers; he relieves
the fatherless
and widow: but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.
Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do good;
seek justice, relieve the oppressed, judge the
fatherless, plead for the widow.
Isaiah 1:23 Your princes are rebellious,
and companions of thieves: everyone
loves bribes, and follows after
rewards: they judge
not the fatherless, neither does the
cause of the widow come before
them.
Jeremiah 5:28 They have grown fat, they shine: yea, they pass
over the deeds of the wicked:
they judge not the cause, the cause
of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right
of the needy do they not defend.
Jeremiah 7:6 If you oppress not the
stranger, the fatherless, and
the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither
walk after other gods to your hurt:
Jeremiah 22:3 Thus says the LORD; Execute justice and righteousness,
and deliver the plundered out of the hand of the oppressor:
and do no wrong, do no violence to
the stranger, the fatherless,
nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.
Jeremiah 49:11 Leave your fatherless
children, I will preserve them
alive; and let your widows trust in me.
Ezekiel 22:7 In you have they made light
of father and mother: in the midst of you have they
dealt by oppression with the
stranger: in you have they wronged the
fatherless and the widow.
Hosea 14:3 Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon
horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands,
you are our gods: for in you
the fatherless finds mercy.
Zechariah 7:10 And oppress not
the widow, nor the fatherless,
the sojourner, nor the poor; and let none
of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
Malachi 3:5 And I will come near to
you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the
sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers,
and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages,
the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the sojourner
from his right, and fear not me, says the LORD of hosts.
James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God the Father
is this, To visit the fatherless
and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted
from the world.

BEAUTIFUL
WITNESS
"Do you love Me?" John 21:16
Jimmie, said his kind protector,
Long his faithful friend and guide,
Jimmie, do you love the Savior?
Yes, the happy child replied.
Can you tell how much you love Him?
All my heart to Him I give;
Love my Savior? Yes, forever,
I will try for Him to live.
Beautiful witness for God is he,
The tears of the orphan are wiped away,
I love Jesus, and Jesus loves me;
And that is all I've got to say.
'Twas the Holy Spirit led him
In the pleasant way of truth,
And he sought and found the Savior
In the early days of youth.
Should he live till years have sprinkled
O'er his brow the frost of age,
Sweet to him the words of comfort,
From the Bible's sacred page.
Children, we may love the Savior;
If we seek Him, we shall find;
Are we ready now to serve Him
With our heart, our strength, and mind?
Think of all His tender mercies,
All the wonders He has done.
Little Jimmie's bright example
Let us follow, every one.
WHEN
THE WEARY, SEEKING REST
"Hear Thou in Heaven Thy dwelling place: and when Thou hearest,
forgive." 1 Kings :30
When the weary, seeking rest,
To Thy goodness flee;
When the heavy laden cast
All their load on Thee;
When the troubled, seeking peace,
On Thy Name shall call;
When the sinner, seeking life,
At Thy feet shall fall:
Hear then in love, O Lord, the cry
In Heav'n, Thy dwelling place on high.
When the child, with grave fresh lip,
Youth, or maiden fir,
When the agèd, weak and grey,
Seek Thy face in prayer;
When the widow weeps to Thee,
Sad and lone and low;
When the orphan brings to Thee
All his orphan woe:
When the stranger asks a home,
All his toils to end;
When the hungry craveth food,
And the poor a friend;
When the widow weeps to Thee,
Sad and lone and low;
When the orphan brings to Thee
All his orphan woe:
When the man of toil and care,
In the city crowd,
When the shepherd on the moor,
Names the Name of God;
When the learnèd and the high
Tired of earthly fame,
Upon higher joys intent,
Name the blessèd Name:
When the worldling, sick at heart,
Lifts his soul above;
When the prodigal looks back
To his Father's love;
When the proud man, in his pride,
Stoops to seek Thy face;
When the burdened brings his guilt
To Thy throne of grace:
